Newton Opry featuring The Bucky Fowler Band

 Classic Country

April 28th

Showtime 7:30 Doors Open 6:30
$12.00 Adult  $8.00 Children (10 and younger)

The Newton Opry will be a monthly show, and feature the Bucky Fowler Band performing some of your favorite Classic Country tunes as well as some Bluegrass and Gospel music.

Bucky Fower has been performing country music since he was a young boy, his band is called, rightfully, The Bucky Fowler Band, formerly known as the Fowler Brothers Band, but since his little brother moved to Nashville a few years ago, he found it necessary to change the name, even though most of the members have remained the same thru the years.  One major Country artist, Martina McBride, spent about two years performing with the band, until she and her husband John, the former sound engineer for the band, moved to Nashville TN and have enjoyed dramatic success in the country music industry.

Other changes to the band have been the addition of his wife, Karla, and their daughters, Kristine and Kelcy.  They actually have three daughters, and they all perform regularly with the band these days,  but the youngest, Kandace, is out of state going to school,  the two older daughters will be regulars at the monthly Newton Opry show, and Kandace will also perform whenever she is home on school break.

They have been playing Classic Country, Bluegrass, Gospel and Rock-a-Billy music all around this area for many years, and have been asked for almost as many years to put together an "Opry" type show for all to come and listen. They play many private parties and shows, that are not open to the public, and the Newton Opry will allow the general public around Newton, Wichita, Hesston, Hillsboro, Moundridge, and McPherson, a place to come, sit, have a fun safe night out, in a very comfortable theatre setting, and hear them perform.

Through the years they have been ever so fortunate to work with many headline names in the country music industry here in Wichita and also around the region.  Names like Garth Brooks, Charlie Daniels, Ricky Skaggs, Merle Haggard, Ronnie Milsap, Steve Wariner, Don Williams, Randy Travis and many, many more. They were also the first in this area to have won the Marlboro Country Music Round-up when it first came to this region. They have performed more recently, several times at Silver Dollar City in Branson MO.

Pictured are, front left to right, Bucky's wife Karla, their middle daughter Kelcy Mohr, and their oldest daughter Kristine Saner.  All are singers in the band!!!

In the back from left to right are, Bucky Fowler on lead guitar, James Hocutt on Bass, Rob Loren on Fiddle and Mandolin, Kurt Graber on Steel Guitar and Pat Keitel on drums.
